SHORT FILM PROJECT:
Emma, a Year 12 student studying VCE Media Units 3/4 at MLC in Kew, is looking for a female actor to take part in a short film she is producing as part of her final assessment.
The film is a drama centred on a mother–daughter relationship and explores themes of grief, denial and memory. It follows a mother who, after losing her daughter to illness, imagines a final interaction with her. This takes the form of an argument that reveals unresolved emotions, before the audience ultimately discovers that the daughter has already passed away. The tone is reflective and emotionally driven, with a focus on subtle performance rather than heavy dialogue.
Female actor aged approximately 40–60 is required to play the role of the mother.
Filming will take place during the June/July school holidays and will involve one rehearsal day, approximately two filming days, and a potential follow-up re-shoot day if required. There is some flexibility to work around availability, and specific dates and location will be provided upon request.
Emma is very passionate about this project and would love the opportunity to collaborate with someone experienced to help bring it to life. Please contact her wardef@mlc.vic.edu.au
