Their attraction to each other becomes increasingly passionate and out of control as the dosage of the drug gets higher. The question is whether the growing intensity between the two is a side effect of the drug or real. Throughout the trial, opposing views within the medical profession are presented through Dr. James, the physician in charge, and the Pharma company doctor Toby Sealey. Brighton Theatre Co.
17 Feb 2023 - 4 Mar 2023

Winner of the 2018 Offie (Off West End) Award for Best New Play and nominated for a 2018 Olivier Award, The Revlon Girl is a story of grief, hope, guilt and make-up in the aftermath of the 1966 Aberfan disaster. In this tragic incident 144 people, including 116 children, were killed when a mountain of coal waste crushed homes and a school in the small Welsh town. While the immediate aftermath was recently portrayed in The Crown S3, this play is set eight months after the disaster and depicts four bereaved mothers who meet with a Revlon makeup artist in the local pub one evening to talk, cry and even laugh without feeling guilty – all while navigating how to cope with heart-breaking loss.

Things I Know To Be True

Frankston Theatre Group Inc.
24 Mar 2023 - 2 Apr 2023

SYNOPSIS
Bob and Fran Price have loved each other for over thirty years. They have built a home and raised four strong children. At the end of it all, they are left asking: Was it worth it? Who are we, now that the children have gone?

Things I Know to be True is a funny and honest account of family life in the Australian suburbs. Over the course of one year, the four adult Price children struggle to establish their identities and deal with personal crises.

Bovell structures his play around a single year, and over its course each of the Price children hits a point of emotional rupture with their parents. Terrible words are said and entire life paths are questioned. Each one of the Prices must face the fact that (in Rosie’s words): ‘People aren’t perfect. Even the people you love. Especially the people you love.’

This classic play, written in 2016 , by Andrew Bovell (Lantana, The Secret River, When the Rain Stops Falling) is about growing up and moving on, even if you’re not ready to.
