Synopsis
Life is already hectic for George, but it gets even worse when her appalling Grandma comes to stay. Fed up of her rudeness, she mixes her a ‘new and improved’ medicine – but the consequences are much more than she bargained for. After seeing the medicine in action, George’s father decides to try it on the animals next – with hilarious and calamitous results!
PLEASE NOTE: In reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, Encore Theatre are intending to stage the show outdoors in a section of Warrawee Park. We are still negotiating with City of Monash to confirm our exact performance location.

Characters Description:
GRANDMA – Female / Male. 50+ years.
Unlike most Grandmothers in children’s storybooks, this Grandma is not nice at all. She’s grumpy, mean to George, and generally not a very pleasant woman at all. Think of the Aunts in James & the Giant Peach and you’ll get the idea…
DAD (KILLY KRANKY) – Male 35 – 55 years.
A farmer who loves his farm and the animals on it almost as much as he loves his wife, Mary, and his daughter, George. When he learns of George’s incredible potion, he’s thrilled and becomes something of a fun, mad scientist.
GIANT CHICKEN – Female / Male. 16+ years.
George’s medicine is powerful stuff! We see this when it makes one of her chicken’s enormous! This is a fun, physical role, which - perhaps unsurprisingly – will involve dressing as a chicken.

REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will be three times a week (twice in the evening during the week and once in the day on a Sunday). Specific days and times to be finalised on casting.
Initial rehearsals will be online, with eventual in-person rehearsals arranged with all measures taken to be ensure they are conducted safely and in accordance with DHHS, City of Monash, and Live Performance Australia guidelines.
