Synopsis

Nine whimsical and very funny vignettes take a quirky look at romance – from most sides. Each vignette is around 10 minutes and is a two-hander. Two feature same sex couples.
Couples are meeting and falling in love at first sight or about to split or wondering if they should stay together or debating how to commit.

The play can be staged with a minimum of four actors but we expect to stage this show with between 6 and 8.

Characters Description:

1. Both m and f - similar age. 20s preferably though 30s would work too. They are both affected by Obsessive-Impulsive disorder that causes them to act on whim and fall in love at first sight while shopping. Some kissing and hugging involved; you must be comfortable with intimacy.

2. F lives in a modest home - she's single and enthusiastically looking forward to marrying.
M - has to be able to sing unaccompanied. He is kind hearted which is good because he's delivering a singing telegram with disappointing news.

3. Two young men fall in and eventually express their love for each other. Both are nervous about taking the leap of faith. There is no intimate contact.

4. M and F about to marry. In fact they are in their wedding gown/suit and about to tie the knot. Then they decide what they really want. They both are pretty certain they know what they want.

5. M and F. They are more or less happy with their married life - only a year in but are beginning to ask questions.

6. M, F, A power couple somewhat lost in the situations outside their married life but coming to realise their real need for each other. Actors will need to be comfortable performing in underwear.

7. M, F Talking slightly at crossed purposes, they discuss how they seem to have forgotten to have a baby they talked about having. She still wants one, he's not so sure.

8. F, F - They are married - still v much in love but one who works is less satisfied with her familial contribution to the relationship and vice versa..

9. M,F. Both are recently divorced. They bump into each other while shopping, realise they know each other from way back and maybe they hit off again.
