Synopsis
Mrs. Stancliffe’s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years. Her guests (nearly all women) return year after year.
Her next-door neighbour, the elderly, silver-tongued Bud “Bud the Stud” Davis, believes they come to spend time with him in romantic liaisons. The prim and proper Mrs. Stancliffe steadfastly denies this but really doesn’t do anything to prevent it. Henry, a retired chemist has proposed to marry Mrs Stancliffe for over twenty years, will he ever get a “yes”?
Three spirited female B&B guests discover they are the targets of “Bud the Stud’s” unsolicited romantic intentions. Uproarious consequences occur as a mischievous plan is set in motion to turn the tables on him. Has Bud finally met his match?
One can only imagine what mayhem may manifest itself!!

AUDITION FORMAT
Auditions will be held in individual 15-minute slots. Please familiarise yourself with the audition scene listed for your chosen character/s (copy and paste the link below).
You will not be expected to memorise any lines in preparation for your audition, however you should consider your accent, body language and mannerisms.

Bud Davis - 65+
A ladies-man, though seemingly weak and frail-looking. At first glance, he appears to have one foot in the grave but is actually quick-witted and physically strong. “Bud the Stud” charms female guests with his silver tongue and sexual prowess. Role requires physical comedy.
Mrs Stancliffe - 55+
A severe woman, precise in speech and straight-laced. The owner of Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast, she runs her establishment with an iron fist. Initially hesitant to Henry’s advances, she eventually reneges and loosens up.
Henry Mitchell - 55+
A mild-mannered retired chemist who seeks Mrs Stancliffe’s companionship. He has proposed to her daily for twenty years. He has developed a new medicine to help women cope with menopause.
Victoria Ambrose - 50+
A renowned romance writer who is unlucky in her own love life.
Hillary Hudson - 50+
A friend of Henry, she is articulate and sophisticated.
